Qualification for Admission to the First Year

A candidate must have successfully passed the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) examination or any equivalent qualification recognized by the Director of School Education, Tamil Nadu. This equivalency applies to candidates who have completed their X Standard from Tamil Nadu's educational institutions.

Candidates from other state boards who have passed their X Standard or equivalent examinations are also eligible, provided they meet the conditions outlined by the Tamil Nadu Secondary Education Board.

Basic Information for Eligibility

  • Compulsory Subjects: Candidates must have studied Mathematics and Science as compulsory subjects in their qualifying examination.
  • Minimum Marks: The candidate must have secured the minimum marks prescribed for a pass in Mathematics and Science subjects as set by the respective State Boards.
  • Overall Pass Requirement: In addition to the minimum marks in Mathematics and Science, the candidate must possess an overall pass certificate issued by the State Board.

Qualification for Admission to the Second Year

To be eligible for direct admission to the second year of the Diploma course at RV Reha Polytechnic College, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

  • Educational Qualification: A pass in any of the following courses qualifies the candidate for admission to the second year of the Diploma program:
    • Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) in Science with Vocational subjects.
    • Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) in Academic subjects.
    • Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) in Technical subjects.
    • SSLC followed by a two-year Industrial Training Institute (ITI) course with appropriate specialization.
  • No Age Limit: There is no age restriction for admission to any of the courses offered at RV Reha Polytechnic College.
  • Community Certificate Requirements:
    • Candidates belonging to the Scheduled Tribes (ST) must obtain a permanent community certificate from the concerned Revenue Divisional Officer (R.D.O.).
    • For candidates from specific communities, such as ThottiaNaicker, the community certificate must also be obtained from the R.D.O. concerned.
    • Only permanent community certificates with the official emblem of the Government of Tamil Nadu will be considered valid for admission purposes.

For candidates who have completed their qualifying examination in states where Science subjects are evaluated individually (e.g., Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology), eligibility will be determined by considering the marks obtained in all science-related subjects combined under the unified category of "Science."
